What Academy? The academy Jesus was outspoken about. The institution which is the breeding ground for conceit like nowhere else! And to fit its prestige, even theses for magister- and doctoral degrees have to be written in dissertation style for acceptance. Jesus’ walk on earth was portrayed in unobtrusive simplicity throughout in order to have even the most uneducated feel His affection and loving embrace. Jesus ALWAYS came up for the downtrodden and the ‘lesser than’. Of course the academy is imperative in its inability to give inner peace in its competitive milieu, its inability to cultivate sincere gratitude for any handouts. Poverty isn’t for sissies and neither is total dependence upon Christ. Matthew 5:3 ““Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” - Berean Standard Bible The judge has to be able to understand the circumstances- any complexities of the individual in order to be fair to all in every case. Empathy is crucial in every court case. The apostle Paul knew affluence and he knew poverty and hardship. Paul came to know Christ and only then he realised how futile all his credentials were, therefore considering them to be rubbish. Paul will be a loving judge, just as Jesus will be. It’s much more an achievement to handle deprivation, than it is with abundancy. Jesus had empathy with the gifted as well, knowing that they will be needing His mercy as well, to complete the full circle of good- and bad fortune. That’s why He said the below without malice, but with compassion: Matthew 11:25 “At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” - Berean Standard Bible To be continued
