Our Faith THE BIBLE JESUS CHRIST BAPTISM HOLY COMMUNION GOD HOLY SPIRIT SABBATH SALVATION SABBATH 1 We believe Jesus Christ is the Sabbath. 2 We believe keeping the New-Covenant Sabbath is all about being in God’s rest. 3 We believe keeping the New-Covenant Sabbath is obedience to the Law of Grace. 4 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is disobedience to the Law of Grace. 5 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is slavery under a legalistic curse. 6 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is keeping one away from God’s rest. 7 We believe there’s always a “today” Sabbath day, the promise to get into God’s rest! 1 We believe Jesus Christ is the Sabbath. Matthew 12:8 “For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.“” - New International Version 2 We believe keeping the New-Covenant Sabbath is all about being in God’s rest. Hebrews 4:4 “For He has spoken somewhere concerning the seventh day in this way, "And on the seventh day God rested from all His works.“” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:10 “For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His” - Berean Study Bible (Keeping a continuous Sabbath now is resting in Christ from ALL our past, present and future work also) 3 We believe keeping the New-Covenant Sabbath is obedience to the Law of Grace. Colossians 2:14 “having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross!” -- Berean Study Bible John 13:34 “"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” - New International Version 4 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is disobedience to the Law of Grace. Hebrews 4:6 “Since, then, it remains for some to enter His rest, and since those who formerly heard the good news did not enter because of their disobedience,” - Berean Study Bible 5 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is slavery under a legalistic curse. Galatians 3:10a “All who rely on works of the law are under a curse.” - Berean Study Bible Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.” - Berean Study Bible 6 We believe keeping the Old-Covenant Sabbath is keeping one away from God’s rest. Hebrews 3:18-19 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.” - New International Version Hebrews 4:2 “For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it.” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:3 “Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’ ” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world.” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:5 “And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.”” - English Standard Version 7 We believe there’s always a “today” Sabbath day, the promise to get into God’s rest! Hebrews 4:1 “Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it.” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:7 “God again designated a certain day as “Today,” when a long time later He spoke through David as was just stated: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:8 “For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:9 “There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.” - Berean Study Bible Hebrews 4:11 “Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.” - Berean Study Bible Colossians 2:16-17 16 Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow the things coming. But the body is of Christ.” - Berean Literal Bible
